Easy to work with gigabit switch
Strengths: It just works. Gigabit speeds, classy exterior, lightweight, has holes on the bottom for wall mounting.
Weakness: Power adapter angled to the side so you have to plug it in at the end of your surge protector / power strip.
If you are building a simple gigabit network in your home or small business, this switch is for you. It simply works, just plug your router and computers into the back and you have a nice speedy network with internet connectivity at a relatively inexpensive price. So far I've had no problems with connectivity or speed between desktops. One nice touch is the different lights for varying speeds on...

As Easy As It Gets
Strengths: Tiny, light-weight, Easy to Install
Weakness: None.
I'm very much a network newbie. I bought a router about 10 months ago and now had to buy a switch to add a couple more PCs. Looks cool, and seems to perform well, different colored LEDs indicated connection speed. Supports Jumbo Frames. Really fast tranfers between my two desktops using gigabit and jumbo frames. Connected to wireless router for other transfers. Great buy!

good value 8 port switch
Strengths: works fine, well packaged
This switch seems to work fine in 100BT and 1000BT modes (I haven't tested 10BT). It's a nice small size and is also easy to wall mount; the penalty for this is that it uses an external wall wart. I appreciated the 2 status LEDs for each port, although you have to get close to read them. Like all 1000BT switches, it runs hot, so you probably wouldn't want to stack something on top of it. It takes...
